10 Things To Do or Not To Do When Starting a Commercial Business

With spring 52 days away.  Yes it is that long.  We decided to put together a list of the 10 most important things to remember if you are starting a commercial bounce house business.

1.  Know your States Regulations.  This is a great starting point for any new commercial business.  Typically, each State has a division that handles inflatables.

2.  Know your Competition.  Find out what the going rates are in your area.  See what units they have and see how booked they are.  This recon will be invaluable.

3.  To together a Budget.  Just like every business out there you need to have a budget and you need to stick to a budget.

4.  Talk to multiple Retailers/Manufactures about there products.  One thing that we believe we have an advantage over manufactures in is out variety.  A manufacture can only sell you what the make.  A retailer like BounceHousesNow.com or InflatableBouncerShop.com can give you a little bit more unbias approach.

5.  Quality This can not be understated.  There are no short cuts in this business.  You get what you pay for and if you buy an inferior product, you are risking loosing rental days for items being in service.

6.  Insurance is a must.  You need to protect your business, family and the customers who rent from you.  Get insurance.

7.  Companies that offer there customers Waivers are misleading.  I waiver does not necessarily protect you and your company.  If the company that gave you the waver is located in California and your business is in New Jersey then that waiver is not protecting you against laws in New Jersey.

8.  Waivers Part 2 contact a local attorney and seek their advice.  This is the only way you can truly protect yourself.

9.  Most of our competitors will not tell you this but we will.  Do Not Buy 5+ Units. Remember, you only get rental income if your unit is rented.

10.  Stay with Gender Neutral items such as Castles and Fun Houses.  Customers will start to request things which will lead you on the way to what you need to purchase next.

I would like to add that these days it is a must to market your Bounce House Rentals business on the internet. There are a huge amount of customers wanting to rent bouncers that are searching online. Be sure to get a website right away, and do some research on how to market your business online as well.
